GETTING TO KNOW ME (AND MY FAMILY)
I’ve called Mapleton home for the past 12 years. Like many of you, I was drawn here by its breathtaking beauty, small-town charm, and—most importantly—its incredible people. My family and I left Orem because we wanted to live somewhere with wide-open spaces, strong community ties, and a slower, more meaningful pace of life. We found that in Mapleton, and I’m committed to helping preserve it.
I was raised in Arvada, CO, and earned a degree in Philosophy with a minor in Logic from Brigham Young University, graduating summa cum laude. My wife—an amazing woman from New Mexico—and I are the proud parents of five wonderful children—our youngest now a teenager.
Throughout my life, I’ve worn many hats—landscaper, small business owner, server at Red Lobster, front-of-house manager at Olive Garden, advertising manager for a small-town newspaper, and buyer for BYU, where I helped acquire their production truck and broadcast studios. I’ve even run a trading post on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico.
For the past 15 years, I served as President, CEO, and eventually Chairman of the Board for the world leader in concrete densification—a company I helped grow significantly in both domestic and international markets. It was an intense and rewarding chapter of my life, but it’s time for something different: a more balanced schedule, more time with family, and more opportunities to give back to my community.
WHY DO I WANT TO BE YOUR NEXT MAYOR?
I believe Mapleton is at a crossroads. Developers are eager to maximize profits—often at the cost of what makes this town special. Our rural character, large lots, open spaces, and close-knit sense of community are not just features—they’re foundations. We can’t allow Mapleton to become just another city filled with dense housing and big-box development. I’m running to protect what makes our town unique.

I also believe we owe a debt of gratitude to our senior citizens—many of whom helped build Mapleton into what it is today. We need to expand senior programs that promote connection, wellness, learning, and enjoyment. I support the creation of a community center that serves residents of all ages—a place to gather, learn, recreate, and thrive.
Let me be clear: I’m not running for recognition, personal gain, or to advance any business interests. I’m running because members of this community encouraged me to. They want someone who will stand up to outside pressures and put our citizens first. Someone who will help Mapleton keep the promises it’s made to the people who live here—and who will protect their property, water, and other rights.
I’m ready to be that person. I want to serve. I want to listen. And I want to ensure that Mapleton remains the extraordinary place we all chose to call home.
